I work with a group of 4 and 5 year olds and we are doing family tree projects, but i cannot figure out a craft for them to do. Please help. They write and draw very little (only legible thing they can write is their names) I want something that can be done in one sitting (its okay if it has dry or something overnight)

Have pieces of paper with a simple tree drawn on them with a circle at the bottom (the kid), two branches with circles above that (parents) and four branching out from those (grandparents). let them draw pictures to show who each person is.
Maybe have green constrution paper for them to glue on as leaves. (cut out before hand)

Start with their hand print and allow the fingers to be family members, children with big families can use two hands

Paint a tree, the kids can help by sponging on the leaves, the children can draw them and there relatives and you stick them on.

    Bring in family photos.
